Morse Mountain—A Moist Adventure

The forecast said, “clouds, overcast, drizzle”

Layer with cotton and fleece was suggested

We had no expectation of a sizzle

Yet, downpouring rain was not requested

On our way we saw vernal pools galore

The study of nature through experiments

Even a scavenger hunt on the shore

Did not produce much student merriments

Seeing trees with blossoms so plentiful

Rare lichen, some moss and flowers divine

Ladies slippers, pine blossoms bursting full

Greenery everywhere, favorite of mine

A shift of pace from inside the school

Made for fun, even in the damp and cool

Morse Mountain, a place of peace and quiet
Where the rain drizzled and the mosquitoes’ flew.
Where we walked up hills and had a riot,
Many pictures taken out of the blue.

Trying to drill the tree was challenging.
We couldn’t find a way to drill the trees.
We had fun in attempts to succeeding.
The walk up the mountain had a nice breeze.

I had fun finding the site solution
With the area not at all disturbed.
    I’m glad there was no ground pollution;
It was a long day and I was tired.

But with good friends and nature around me,
The day turned out to be as good as it could be!

From six in the morning to two p.m.
My group has lots of fun within the woods
I take pictures with the view behind them
Because of the rain we had coats and hoods

Throughout the day we must see sites with tasks
From drilling holes to the scavenger hunt
On the beach some people lay down and bask
But I don’t know why, we had a cold front

The ocean was freezing but some went in
On the bus friends caught up about the day
About what they did and where they had been
We all had lots of fun, what can I say?
By the end, we were happy to be back
It was fun but not while the sky was black.

    Ocean
Crystal blue, horizon of rocky rocks,
Array of rainbows, fish nibble on toes.
Sailing boats filled with gems, arrive on docks,
Gracefully and slowly, they line in rows.
Bitter-sweet scene; salty breeze, sun baked sand.
A sea gull’s hawk disrupts the quiet world.
The ocean’s fingers rush in to grab land,
The finger’s retreat, yet return sand, hurled.
On the horizon, a dolphin sings, solo.
It’s hum is beautiful, filled with sadness,
Yet it cannot be seen, singing down low,
The chorus changed the tune, happiness.
Magic stirred up this scenery, potion.
This glimmering sea, this crystal blue ocean.

    What A Day!

It was one of those nice calm sunny day.
When you don't want to be in a hot school.
You want to be out and just have it made.
Just like by the shore and sit and be cool.
Or on top of a mountain to feel high.
Or by the stream to just catch a fish.
Either way you are great because you can fly.
On the beach you can chill like a great dish.
Talking with friends having a very good time.
Just like any day with the sun and the water.
Eating on the beach then I find a dime.
As time pass it is getting much hotter.
Then we have to walk back and go back home.
To bad I just want to stay and just roam.
